Dunes Family Health Care

The Dunes Family Medical system is a 10 kW system located in Central Lincoln PUD in Reedsport Oregon.The system was paid, in part, through a 25% Renewable Energy grant from the USDA through the REAP program.

Powers Housing Authority

There are 26 systems to be installed in Powers, each feeding power to the renter’s electricity panel.

Each system has a capacity of 3.57 kW for a total site installation of almost 93kW of dc power producing over 100,000 kWh of AC power each year. At a present day value of $10,000 per year, the systems will offset over $360,000 in electricity costs.

Airport Heights

There are 50 individual systems at Airport Heights, each feeding power to the renter’s electricity panels.

Depending on the size of the unit and the roof solar resource the system sizes range from 2 to 3.75 kW. In total there are 150 kW of dc power rated solar modules installed that will produce over 165,000 kWh/year of AC power. This equates to $16,500 in electricity savings each year. Over the course of the first 25 years of the project life the systems will save over $600,000 in electricity costs (at 3% / year electricity cost increase).

Park West Phases 1 & 2

There are 22 individual systems at Parkwest, each feeding power to the renter’s electricity panel. The system sizes are either 2 or 2.3 kW of dc rated solar modules for a total capacity of just under 50 kW. Collectively the systems will produce about 58,000 kWh/year of usable AC electricity valued today at $5,800. Over the first 25 years the systems will save over $200,000 in electricity costs.

South Slough Estuarine Research Reserve

In 2009 the South Slough Estuarine Research Reserve commissioned Sol Coast Companies to design and install a 52 solar panel system for their interpretive center. Their mission was to reduce operating costs of the interpretive center and demonstrate energy conservation strategies to the public. A 52-panel, grid-tied system was installed, with a projected 8,693 kW/year production. This amounts to over $1,000 in energy savings per year!

Solar Performance Data for the South Slough Estaurine Research Reserve

Bandon Dunes Golf Resort

We are proud to have completed two solar electric installations at the internationally renowned Bandon Dunes Golf Resort on the Old MacDonald links style course. The smaller of the two, a 2 kW system, is located on the remotely located turnstand and uses SolarWorld modules (made in Oregon) as well as a PVPowered (manufactured in Bend Oregon) inverter.

The second installation is a 23kW system installed on the historic barn that houses the maintenance equipment for this course. This system also uses SolarWorld modules which feed three Fronius inverters.

WE are currently installing two more systems on the Pacific Dunes course practice facility and turnstand – check back for photos of those installations, or better yet – visit them yourself!
